2009 JUNKFISH ANGLERS TRASHCAN SLAM TOURNAMENT Rules
Anyone is eligible. No registration fee is required. Go to CONTACT page to enter. All fish registered must be caught on rod and reel. Saltwater and freshwater fish are welcome. Fish that have been shot, gaffed, scaled, or mutilated are not eligible. HAVE YOU CAUGHT A JUNKFISH IN 2009 THAT YOU THINK IS WORTHY OF A CITATION & RECOGNITION? Pre-registered anglers will receive preference
The catch must be lawful. Anglers should be aware of the rules pertaining to fishing and eligible sizes of fish at all times.
The Junkfish Tournament committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
The decision of the Junkfish Tournament committee will be final.

JUNKFISH REPORTS / unusual reports
- I was trolling offshore at the mudhole and the action was non existent for the five hours we had our lines in. Eventually a 30 bends over and starts screaming. I handed the rod to my buddy who has never been offshore in his life and he goes to work on the fish. We cleared the cockpit, got the gaff, and after a long and hard fought battle we leadered up an old lobster pot. My buddy will never live that one down...The junkfish shows itself in many different forms...A.M. in NJ
- I've had many fishing trips saved by catching junkfish on my boat. Non fisherman AKA (Mom,Friends,Nieces,Nephews etc..) As long as they are catchin I consider it a job well done. Of course I'm trying to get them on the fish we're after, but sometimes it doesn't work that way. Good site. I'm a lock to win this tourney. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND GOOD FISHING...Tom
- Just signed up...I'm also known as King junkfish. I don't like to brag, but I have been known to keep the junkfish population in check. I usually catch every doggie,sea robin that the bay has to offer..BRING IT!!...THE KING
- Great website! I am a junkfisher of men! Feels good to get that off my chest.
- I chartered a group of guys out there sharking. A shearwater (bird) must have dove 30+ feet. The line started peeling and after we cleared the lines this bird shot out of the water like a cannon. The guy on the rod still thought he had something down below, until we had to reel that pissed off thing in.
- Caught a remora and it had to be four feet long. We figured it would it be a good idea to throw it on the deck.(not a good idea). Well you guessed it. It stuck on the deck and would not let go. live and learn
- If there was a record for junkfish? maybe there is. I saw a guy catch a sea robin that had to be 10 pounds. On a diiferent note. I caught a few that would of put me in the junkfish record books.
